Wildlife/Forestry Conservation Colleges (NOT On Line)?

I really want to get a degree on Wildlife/Forestry Conservation. Some of the On line School ratings I have read, give me the creeps. I would not like to waste time%26amp;money in this endeavor.

-Does someone know if there are REAL Colleges to register for this career?

-How long would it take to complete it.

-Does someone know if there are actual hiring opportunities in this field in the Government or the Private sectors?

Thanks from the heart!, CarlosWildlife/Forestry Conservation Colleges (NOT On Line)?
My brother is majoring in this field, and he is attending the University of Tennessee Knoxville (UTK). It is very much a real school! (Go Volunteers!)

It is going to take him approx 5 years to get his Bachelors Degree. They have Associates Degrees but you will not get paid as much in the long run and you probably wont have the ';fun'; jobs! The two year school that I know of is Hiwassee College, in TN. (not saying TN is the only place to get schooled on this - i just dont know where you are from so I am giving real life examples)

As far as I know getting hired on is all through the Government. For example we are from Tennessee so he will have to put in an application with the TWRA (Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency)Wildlife/Forestry Conservation Colleges (NOT On Line)?
most places such as forestry commision , environment agency , bird reserves and country parks such as the national trust, require a combinatio of h.n.d or foundation degree i countryside nd wildlife studies, these are availiable at aggricultural colleges.... such as bangor in wales, aberdeen in scotland, bishop burton and lincoln riseholm in east midlands and writtel in essex, also the centre for alternative technology in wales does some 1 week long intensive courses that are excelent, most h.n.d.s take 1 year, degrees take 3 years. look at environmentjobs .co .uk for jobs and training in your area.
I'm in school to be a fisheries biologist for the department of wildlife, and the degree you need is a bachelors minimum in a wildlife biology degree more than likely, Oklahoma State University is one of the best Ag schools. I'm going top north Eastern State in oklahoma and the degree is a bachelors in fisheries and wildlife management, the reason on line wont work is because most of the work is hands on and field work which you cant learn on line.
Check out this university..I have heard good things about this school and their wildlife program:

It will take you 4 years to complete a Bachelor of Science degree..if you decide to on on for a Masters, it will take you an additional 2 years..a Phd will take a few more years after that. You can probably find work with a Bachelors..but may make more money if you have a Masters. Yes, there should be jobs available in this field with a degree and experience. Look for work with government agencies, non-profit organizations, universities, or environmental consultant firms.
